Dear An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha Adjudicators:

It is with great pleasure that the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America (IDTANA) extends this invitation to all eligible ADCRG members worldwide to adjudicate the 2012 IDTANA North American Irish Dance Championships (NAIDC).   Please read the following criteria and complete the on-line form to submit your name for placement on the ballot.

The Irish Dance Teachers of Mid-America (IDTAMA) will be hosting the North American Irish Dance Championships from July 3, 2012 through July  7, 2012 in Chicago, IL.

Please note that as of 1/1/12, adjudicators who adjudicate a "major event" (defined by CLRG as the World Championships, All Ireland Championships, North American Irish Dance Championships and the British Nationals/Great Britains/All Scotland Championships (depending on the year in which each is the secondary qualifier)) may not adjudicate another "major event" for one year until the completion of the "major event" that they adjudicated the previous year.  In practice, any adjudicator who judges the 2012 All Ireland or World Championships may not adjudicate the 2012 NAIDC.  In addition, any adjudicator who judges the 2012 NAIDC may not adjudicate another "major event" until the 2013 NAIDC is completed.

As set forth by IDTANA rules, any adjudicator who judges the 2011 NAIDC may not put their name forward for the 2012 NAIDC.

In addition, as set forth in the IDTANA by-laws, ADCRGs selected to judge this event must not judge any Preliminary or Open Championship competitions worldwide from May 1, 2012 - July 3, 2012.

Selected Adjudicators are required to arrive on July 2, 2012 and are required to stay until July 8, 2012.

Adjudicators are subject to the following:

·        All tickets will be booked through a travel agent designated by the IDTANA or IDTAMA. 

·        Adjudicators will be paid a flat fee of $1750 for the 5 days work.  The fee will cover any and all overtime that may be encountered during the event.

·        Breakfast and lunch will be provided throughout the event by the committee. A dinner subsidy per working day will be paid to each Adjudicator.

·        Breakfast, lunch, and dinner allowance will be given for two travel days.

·        Overseas adjudicator will be required to arrive two days prior to the start of the competitions

The NAIDC is a secondary qualifier and as such the adjudicator's prerogative to judge the event takes precedence over a dancers right to enter the event.  As such, we kindly request that interested adjudicators discuss their intent to judge the 2012 NAIDC with their Relationships and Associations, as defined by CLRG, and ask them in turn to discuss the same with their Relationships and Associations.  This will allow schools sufficient time to notify their dancers and families and make alternative competition plans. 

All interested Adjudicators must be in compliance with all current An Coimisiun directives regarding Criteria for Adjudication and any future directives issued prior to the North America Irish Dance Championships.  

Adjudicators who are in compliance with the directives and are interested in putting their name forward for consideration should complete this online form no later than June 1, 2011.
 

The adjudication panel will be voted on by the entire IDTANA membership in attendance at the IDTANA AGM in July, 2011 to be held in Nashville, TN.  Successful adjudicators will be notified by email in December, 2011.
