The
Irish Dance Teacher's Association of North American is proud of the accomplishments of all dancers not only
competitively and artistically, but also academically. To
recognize the accomplishments of these dancers who excel in the
classroom and in the dance studio, the IDTANA is proud to offer
$20,000 annually in scholarships for high school senior students, and
those students who are already attending college. The Scholarship
winners were announced this week at the North American Irish Dance
Championships. The IDTANA
Scholarship
Committee is comprised of a representative from each of the seven
regions in North America. Under the guidance of Russell Beaton
ADCRG,
who is beginning his thirty-eighth year with the Frederick County
(Maryland) Public School System where he is the Curriculum
Specialist for Visual and Performing Arts - the IDTANA Scholarship Committee
works diligently in identifying the scholarship recipients from the
application and essay process.
Applications
for 2010 are now available. The application process for
2010 has changed. Please review the information in the application
packet for more information. The Scholarships are awarded approximately in early
July of each year with recognition and presentation at the North
American Irish Dance Championships.
